CONNERSVILLE WINTER FEST 2013

*****WINTERFEST 2013 UPDATE*****

Whitewater Valley Adventures is organizing the Caroling for this event.

I am inviting all groups (such as Cub and Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts, 4-H groups, Youth Groups, any club or group no matter the age range) to come be a part of the Winter Fest Parade and also the caroling during Winter Fest.

Winter Fest is November 23rd from 5-8p.m. in downtown Connersville.

That's just ONE WEEK away!

Here are the requirements:
1.No singing talent what so ever, just a joyous holiday spirit and the desire to share it.
2.Be ready to walk with the parade while singing Christmas/Holiday songs along the parade route approximately 3 blocks down Central Avenue toward the Fayette County Courthouse - dress appropriately for the weather that day. (Holiday Costumes and Festive Attire are ALWAYS welcomed and encouraged. If your group wants to wear its own special clothing that is fine also.)
3. Be prepared to sing "O Christmas Tree" at the annual lighting of the tree on the courthouse lawn.
4. Sing along with the crowd a few (2-3) traditional Christmas songs to set the mood and to officially begin the entire Caroling season in Connersville Indiana.
5. Afterward, small groups of carolers are encouraged to sing outside several different locations (or as you walk along) visiting the different merchants and event locations along the way from the Canal House to Santa at Knecht's Interiors and up to 7th and Central.

I am trying to contact any and all church groups so that we may have their participation as well. Choirs, youth groups, men's and/or women's ministry groups are all welcome to come join in. My hope is to have all Pastors and Deacons in the community sing "I'm Gettin' Nothin' For Christmas" as well!

You do not have to belong to a group or even have a family to come join in the fun. Please just show up, sing, and help bring a collective holiday spirit to the celebration.

Already here is what I have been told will be happening at Winter Fest:
~ Parade~ Annual Lighting of the Tree at the Courthouse Lawn~Downtown merchants open extended hours for holiday shopping~Santa at Knecht's~Frosty at the Democratic Party HQ~The White Water Valley Roller Derby will be holding a meet and greet as well as a derby demo in the courthouse parking lot~ A recounting of "A Visit From St Nicholas" by Daniel and Amber Phelps will be held in the Canal House Parlor (Daniel is known to most of the school children as the Fayette County Library Bookmobile Driver and also as John Conner from this year's Bicentennial Celebration, both are known as outstanding actors and community supporters.)

As I am made aware of more events and info I will post them here on this page with update statuses.
